The Paddle plant is a well know succulent, indigenous to South Africa. It is also called the dessert cabbage. The grey-green leaves grow to about 15cm long and will become tinged in red when exposed to sun. Mature plants may produce a spike of fragrant, yellow flowers in spring. This design combines a simple leaf shape with a stylized flower inside the leaf.
